He knows you !

mercredi 4 septembre 2019, par Josepha HITOEMETO OUIKOUN

"Before I had formed you in the belly of your mother, I knew you and before you came out of her womb, I had consecrated you, I had made you prophet of the nations" Jeremiah 1 : 5

Jeremiah was a young priest who served in Judah. God called him not only to become his prophet for Judah but also for other nations.

The Lord began by telling Jeremiah that HE knew him even before his conception and birth ; before he was born, God had already set him apart for a mission. Having been informed of his appointment as prophet, Jeremiah responded to God, "Ah ! Eternal Lord ! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am a child "Jeremiah 1 : 6. He did not feel up to it, and feared both the Mighty of Judah and those of other nations. He was hardly sure of being able, at that tender age, of confronting kings and delivering the Lord’s message to them.

The LORD reassured Jeremiah, advising him not to despise himself because of his young age. He also addressed his basic problem which was fear. God knew that fear would prevent Jeremiah from successfully accomplishing his mission. The fear of the unknown, the fear of failures, the fear of ridicule, the fear of rejection, and many other fears which also prevent us from achieving our mission and destiny. God reassured Jeremiah and said to him, "Fear not them, for I am with you to deliver you" Jeremiah 1 : 8. The mission God entrusted Jeremiah with was huge ! It was obvious that he could not complete it all alone without putting his life in danger. However, not only had he received assurance from the ONE who sent him that he would not forsake him, but HE would rescue him from his enemies as well. What a wonderful God !

When God calls someone, HE does equip him, protect him, and if necessary, rescue him. God has called you and me to preach the Gospel to all nations. It is not an easy mission, but God knows that with HIM by our sides, we can make it. His call is supported by the promise of his continued presence : "And, behold, I am with you every day, until the end of the world." Matthew 28 : 20

God knows your name, he assigned you to a mission, has equipped you accordingly and promised to be by your side until the end.
