“And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.” Mark 8:29

Knowing who Jesus is, is fundamental to our faith for the Bible says that he that believeth that Jesus Christ came to this world, died for our sins and is resurrected from the dead and confesses it with his mouth is saved.

How can we believe when we don't know Him? As a person that was born again over 20 years ago, I grappled with my faith because I did not understand the divinity of Christ. When I became saved, I knew Him as the son of God. And my understanding of son is of this world. I questioned the belief that Jesus Christ is God. I said it with my mouth, but did not believe in my heart.

As I pondered over this one day, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that life is in the blood; a woman with just her egg cannot give birth except it be with a man. Mary was a virgin and a life entered her, which is the Spirit of God, the breath of life. The body of the Man called Jesus is housing the power of God.

You know, as a Christian, we all have had questions about who Jesus Christ is. Most people believe he was born of a virgin, but not in His divinity. We think of Jesus Christ as if he were human. Jesus said in Mathew "I and my father are one". Understanding this helps us to operate in our true power.

Jesus Christ is the anointed Savior. There are many saviors in the world but none is like Jesus. He redeems us of our sins. He was treated as a thief, murderer so we can get redemption. What is it that you have done that he cannot forgive? Instead of killing Barnabas, a murderer, Jesus Christ was hung to death in his place. This was an offence that he did not commit, but an offence committed by you and me.

Therefore, if we know Him, we can believe in Him. As Jesus said in the book of John "how can you believe that which you don't know"? Knowing Him is the first step to operating in his vineyard. For it is the power of the Holy Spirit that worketh in us.

I pray that God will reveal Himself to us and we will know and believe in Him in Jesus Name!
