“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Psalm 133:1

A peaceful home is not a home without problems; it is a home where people choose love, forgiveness, patience and understanding when problems arise. Peace begins when we allow God to become the centre of our homes.

Many homes are affected by anger, harsh words, misunderstanding and unforgiveness. Sometimes the greatest need in a home is not more money or possessions, but more grace. A peaceful home is built when husband and wife learn to listen, parents speak words that build rather than destroy, and children are taught respect and kindness.

Imagine a house where everyone is trying to win an argument. There may be beautiful furniture, food and comfort, but there will be no peace. Peace comes when someone is willing to say, “I am sorry,” “ Please forgive me, ” or “ Let us pray about this. ” Jesus said in Matthew 5:9, “ Blessed are the peacemakers. ”

We cannot control everyone's behaviour, but we can choose what we bring into our homes. Let us bring prayer instead of anger, encouragement instead of criticism, forgiveness instead of resentment and love instead of fear.

Prayer: Lord, make our homes places where Your presence is felt, Your Word is honoured and every family member feels loved, valued and safe. Amen.
