Martial KOUNOU

“The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1
Beloved,
Flexibility is one of the many qualities of our God. Our anchor verse therefore infers that when the Almighty is thinking of who to appoint king, He makes sure He chooses somebody that He can easily influence. So long as the fellow remains receptive to His instruction including rebukes, God will keep working through the fellow. However, once the person becomes stiff-necked after many rebukes, the Almighty makes sure the fellow is suddenly destroyed without remedy (Proverbs 29:1). Flexibility attracts God’s anointing.
Jesus was the son of God and yet, he remained submissive to his father throughout his earthly journey. Look at his powerful statement in Luke 22:42: “ Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done .”
Beloved, can God bend you at will? Can He make you change completely your plans without you getting offended? Look at how Isaiah was flexible with the Almighty: “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8) Do you let go of things easily or do you hold to them strictly? The truth is that anything you can’t let go becomes your idol and no idol worshipper can attract God’s mercy and anointing. When was the last time you apologized to your wife, your husband or a colleague?
Many people have wasted the glorious destiny the Lord had for them by reason of lack of flexibility or refusal to take counsel because of their I-know-it-all mentality.
Can the Lord bend you after you have decided to marry that girl, that boy? Can He still make you change your plan about that travel abroad? Would you still submit to His will if He asked you to stop that building project? How would you react if He asked you to invest that money you are saving in the ministry of a man of God? On your way to the airport, if God tells you to trace your steps back home, will you obey without arguing or would you rather try to convince him of the importance of that trip?
Beloved, it takes submission to God’s word, to the Holy Spirit and to authority to enjoy flexibility. May your heart be of those God can easily influence. Have a blessed week!
