“(…) And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place”1 King 19:16

Beloved,

In Psalms 50:10-12 God Almighty declares: “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof”

Can He that created heavens and earth be stranded? Can the King of kings, the Lord of lords find himself in the situation where there is no one to accomplish His will? Should human beings fail in that assignment, God will empower inanimate things to take charge. In Luke 19:40, Jesus told the Pharisees who asked him to rebuke his disciples who were shouting: “if these should hold their peace, the stone would immediately cry out”

What the above teaches us is that God will always have a way out. Therefore, if He entrusts you with any assignment, never feel too important, relevant and indispensable to submit to him. God always has a reserve bench. If you don’t believe me, study the life of Saul. The day Saul messed up, God expressed regret for making him king in 1 Samuel 15:11. A few verses further, i.e., in 1 Samuel 16:1, the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.” No sooner said than done.

God had taken time to prepare David for that through the different experiences he had. And David, the back-up God resorted to, happened to be a much better king than Saul. And that is what happens generally: the people God chooses to replace those who fail him are always better than those they replace.

My brother and my sister, always consider it a privilege when God chooses you and entrusts you with any assignment, small or big and do ensure you remain current in your spiritual commitment. Never relent because Satan generally waits for when we have reached our lowest spiritual voltage to strike and push us to rebel against our creator.

In the name of Jesus, that which the Lord has ordained for you, no one will take your place. You will fulfill your assignment and your mandate !
