“So, teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:12
Now, what that means is this: "Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should." We should know that life is like a currency. You can spend it any way you want to, but the catch is you can only spend it once. So, it is either you waste it or you live it well.
HOW TO MAKE THE BEST OF IT
Prioritize God : The foundation of a fulfilled life is making a relationship with God the central focus, seeking His will above personal ambitions or worldly values. (Isaiah 40:31, Matthew 11:28)
Engage in Prayer and Communication : Engaging in consistent, sincere conversation with God (prayer) is considered a spiritual "lifeline", fostering an awareness of His presence and seeking His guidance for daily decisions. (Jeremiah 29:12, Colossians 4:12, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Appreciate and manage what you have : Do not be carried away by what people are doing, eating or drinking. It is not all that glitters that is gold. Manage the one you have and appreciate God for what you have. (Colossians 3:23)
Practice Gratitude : Express thanks and worship to God, even if the season is tough and things are difficult. Align and maintain perspective with your faith, and acknowledge God's provision and sovereignty. (Psalm 118:24)
Fellowship with other believers : People are so important in this journey of life, friends and family who will stick with us no matter what we face, who will cover us in prayers and offer wise counsel and help. Find such people or a church that teaches the word where you can grow and serve. Show up and keep showing up. (Acts 2:42-47)
Take time to Rest: In today’s society, we tend to be so busy packing our days with activities and rushing. We often don’t realize that rest is actually a godly concept, first created by God in Genesis 2:2-3. God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day—not because He was tired (Isaiah 40:28), but because He wanted to bless it and make it holy for man to rest. God emphasized the importance of resting by creating an entire day for it.
I pray God’s wind of abundant blessings blow in your favor in this festive season.
