SOAR HIGH

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40: 30-31

Although youth and young men are the peak of strength and vigour in life, this strength crashes under the demand of life. God in his infinite wisdom has created an economy that demarcates believers, a well of possibilities and strength to keep them going even under the toughest conditions and demands.

The believer is compared to an eagle. Eagles soar high above storms and other birds. When storms come, they don’t run, they rise higher, using the winds others fear. Their strength isn’t just in their wings; it’s in their mindset. With a speed of up to 320 km/h, eagles fearlessly strike with high precision. When life becomes hard, eagles don’t fear pain. They endure it, shedding old beaks and talons in order to live stronger, longer.

Likewise, believers are expected to live the same way. Storms and challenges aren’t meant to break us but are invitations to grow. Waiting on God is not time wasted but an invitation to tap into a different dimension, an invitation to see life through the eyes of the creator. Only those who wait upon him for His direction get the revelation of who He truly is. It is in such moments as these that what “eyes have not seen, nor ears heard…” can be revealed to the believer.

Three characteristics we can note from eagles:

1. Sharp vision: God calls us to have a sharp vision, seeing His promises even when life feels unclear. Eagles see prey from miles away and stay locked in. Likewise, when we focus on God, He gives us clarity and perseverance.

2. Large wingspan : let’s them soar high effortlessly, riding the winds rather than fighting them. When we depend on God’s strength rather than our own, we find rest under his wings.

3. Fearless: Storms are not a disadvantage to them; they use them to rise higher. God doesn’t promise a storm-free life, but He promises renewed strength to soar through it.

Choose Jesus today as your pillar to go through obstacles and storms of life. Fix your eyes on Him, spread your wings in faith, and trust that the winds of hardship are carrying you higher than you can imagine.
