“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” Matthew 28:6
A few months ago, I shared a message on how, like the wind, those who are born of the Spirit are unpredictable and uncontrollable. Before Jesus went to the cross, the religious leaders of His time were determined to prove that His words about resurrection were false. Fearing the fulfillment of prophecy, they took deliberate and strategic measures to stop it. Matthew 27:66 records that they secured the tomb by sealing the stone and posting guards, convinced that human authority could imprison divine purpose.
I can imagine their momentary satisfaction, congratulating themselves for having outsmarted what they perceived as mere hope. Yet, their confidence was short lived. In spite of every precaution, every seal, and every guard, Jesus rose from the dead exactly as He had declared. Faced with an undeniable miracle, they refused repentance and chose deception. They bribed the guards and instructed them to spread a lie—that the disciples came by night, rolled away the stone, and stole His body—adding shame to rebellion.
Beloved brother and sister, this biblical account reveals a timeless truth. The enemy will exhaust every option to hinder the fulfillment of God’s promises in your life. Some spend sleepless nights plotting, consulting shrines and altars, offering sacrifices and schemes, all with the singular intention of blocking your progress and multiplying your pain. Opposition may be organized, persistent, and seemingly powerful, but it is never ultimate.
The good news is this: the same God who raised Jesus from the grave reigns over your destiny. If all their strategies failed to stop the resurrection, if their resistance only magnified God’s glory, and if their plans ended in disgrace, then you can remain calm and confident. What God has spoken concerning you cannot be annulled by human or spiritual resistance.
Trust the Creator of heaven and earth to bring His promises to completion in your life. Delays do not cancel destiny, resistance does not rewrite prophecy, and opposition does not intimidate God. Stand firm, remain faithful, and keep walking in obedience, knowing that divine purpose cannot be buried.
As Isaiah 54:15 powerfully declares: “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by Me; whoever gathers against you shall fall for your sake.”
Hold this truth close to your heart, speak it in prayer, and walk without fear. Prophecy stands stronger than opposition, faith outlasts warfare, and victory belongs to God alone, now and always, regardless of resistance seen, felt or experienced before.
