A sister who is a member of MFM worked somewhere at the Lagos city center. One day, there was a word of knowledge that somebody was going to be promoted from position 5 to position 1. This sister clinched the number one position and was moved above everyone else.

The person who was supposed to take the position was an academic herbalist who used to hide ‘juju’ under his shirt and cover it up with his tie. Should anyone be bold enough to affront him in the office, he would open his button and reveal the juju threateningly.

The third person was an Alhaji. After the sister was promoted, they all visited her to vow to make the position too hot for her to occupy. All the sister told them in reply was, “As the Lord lives, and His Spirit is alive, no one can remove me from my place of miracle” .

Nonetheless, these people intensified their threat. The sister was working at her desk one day, when all of a sudden she felt some coldness on her feet. When she looked, she found a big serpent coiling round her legs. Note beloved, that this was at the city center where there is no forest from where the snake could have crawled in; and besides, the sister’s office was on the top floor of a high-rise building.

She looked at the thing and screamed for help and her messenger rushed in. he was quite a muscular man but when he saw the snake, he ran back. Finding herself helpless in that situation, the sister looked at the serpent straight in the face and said “In the mighty name of Jesus, I command you to be electrocuted.”

Within a twinkling of an eye, the sister said she could see fear in the eyes of the snake. Then the snake stretched out as if electrocuted and remained silent there for ever. It was then that the muscular messenger came in again.

We need to arise out of our present paralysis. It is a source of bother to anyone who can think that the present-day believer seems to be completely paralyzed. If that woman had not known what to do, the next day, newspapers would have been screaming, ‘snake bites newly promoted manager to death’.

I am sure that if that snake had succeeded, it would probably have disappeared without anyone knowing what went wrong. That is how we hear of some people dying on their seats.
