I met a friend of mine who is a General Overseer. He went to visit a branch of his church and came back to tell me a story which I found inspiring. He said that immediately his entourage arrived, the whole of the neighborhood gathered in diverse regalia lodges, herbalists, etc., and surrounded his car. They welcomed him and allowed him to take his seat.
Immediately he got seated, they came to tell him to remove his “ dog ”, that is, the pastor of the church and bring back the former pastor. Their reason? Since the new pastor was posted to the church, there had not been any business for them as people no longer consulted the herbalists, and to make matters worse, many of the young men who were carrying the masquerade had joined the church so much so that there were no people to carry the masquerade at festivals.
Besides these, they said every 2 a.m., the “dog” would wake up and start making noise in the name of prayer. For this reason, they asked the General Overseer to remove the pastor without delay as he had hindered them, including his landlord from attending witchcraft meetings as the pastor had blocked their way with prayer.
Then the Overseer asked them that, “if the pastor could as much block their way with prayer, why could they not surrender their lives to Christ?”
