“Let me tell you a true story about two twin brothers I will call James and John. I narrated this story at the Easter Convention, 2003 at Thema District Assemblies of God Church where I was the guest preacher of a congregation of about 15 churches.

This incident happened a few years ago at a village in the Northern part of the Volta Region of Ghana. James and John were born into a family that worshipped idols. Their parents were a fetish priest and a priestess. The same applied to the paternal grandmother.

James and John also had an elder sister and an elder brother, I will call Edna and Emmanuel. They were all initiated into “ voodooism ” until a Pentecostal Church came and organized a crusade in the village. There, these children, Edna, Emmanuel, James and John gave their lives to Christ. That was to the displeasure of their parents and their entire family. Severe persecutions arose. After some weeks of intense pressure that forced them to renounce their new found religion, Edna and Emmanuel decided that they could no longer bear the pressure, so they renounced their new found religion. But James and John kept the faith.

Not quite long, disaster struck into the family. Edna died mysteriously. A few weeks later, Emmanuel also died. A few months later, their father died. Then their mother followed. It was now left with James and John and their grandmother (father’s mother). When their grandmother saw that she was aging she decided to transfer the priesthood of the shrine to James and John. They vigorously rejected it. Due to the pressure coupled with threats from their grandmother and elders of the village, these two brothers decided to flee the village. They fled to an unknown destination ( but actually they came to Accra )

While in Accra, the two brothers located one of the branches of the Pentecostal Church that came to hold the crusade in their village and started worshipping there. Whilst James became very committed and even rose to become the Youth Leader, John was slightly lukewarm. That brought a misunderstanding and an open confrontation between the two brothers. Not quite long, the two boys found jobs. They were introduced to an expatriate couple who employed them. A few years later, the couple took John along with them when they were relocating to USA. James was left alone in Ghana. He continued to be serious with his new found religion.

Ten years after they had left the village, a prominent man from the village (who actually connected the two brothers to the expatriate couple) died. It became very necessary for James to attend the funeral. So, James approached his pastor who prayed with him, gave him a few Scriptures to stand on and encouraged him to go.

Based upon that encouragement from his pastor, James went to the village for the funeral. Fortunately or unfortunately, the grandmother was still alive, healthy and strong. James arrived in the village at night, and decided to sleep with a friend. The following morning around 5 a.m., James decided to go and greet the grandmother because of the advice of his pastor. He called his grandmother, but at first, she did not recognize his voice. Actually, she did not know her grandson. It took James some time to introduce himself to his grandmother.

Gradually, the old woman recognized James. She embraced him and exclaimed: “Oh James, so where have you been? We searched for you all over and could not locate you. We thought you were dead.” She added : “Indeed James, you have eluded us, but as for your twin brother John, we are always in touch with him in USA.” When James heard this, he wondered, “How did this old lady get in touch with John in the USA?” . Then James decided to trick the old lady, so he said to her, “John is not in USA and I myself do not know where he is” . Just then the grandmother invited him into an inner room where he saw something which nearly sent him into a coma.

In the room the old lady just bent down and pulled something from under her bed. It turned out to be an earthen ware (a black pot) whose contents were: water, leaves, a talisman, cowries, and a small mirror. After making some incantations she asked James to get closer and see what was in the pot. James who was astonished gathered courage and drew nearer the caldron, bent down and stared into the black pot. What he saw nearly caused him to lose his heartbeat. Behold, he was just staring at his brother John in the mirror. His brother had just finished having his bath, dressed up and was lacing his shoes to go to work. The old lady then said: “Oh as for John, even last week, he fought with the wife and the wife reported the matter to the police, so as we stand here your brother has a case with the police” . In fact, John had actually called James a few days ago and reported the same matter to him.

My dear reader, can you imagine this? James, who was in Accra, could not be traced by the demonic caldron but the brother who was far away in USA was easily monitored by the caldron. What do you think could account for that? It is the blood of Jesus Christ and the hedge of God that shielded James from the demonic radar of the caldron or the witchcraft pot.

Beloved, as long as your relationship with Christ is intact, as long as your walls are intact, as long as you walk in obedience and righteousness, and as long as your prayer life is alive, you have nothing to fear, the Blood of Jesus Christ will shield you against your enemies and any caldron. The Blood of Jesus Christ will hedge you from the reach of your enemies; “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has…” (Job 1:10). That was why James could not be located by the caldron radar. The Blood of Jesus-Christ in which James was hiding daily prevented the power of the demonic caldron radar from picking him.

However, if your relationship with Christ is not faithful, if you live anyhow, if you live a careless and carefree life, if you fail to walk in obedience to God and in righteousness, if you are careless about spiritual things, then there will be a crack in your wall and that will render you vulnerable to caldron attacks. This will render the caldron radar effective in your life.”
