The annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God had just come to a successful conclusion. After days of intense ministry, counseling, prayers, and countless activities, I was completely exhausted.
When I finally arrived home, I gathered my wife and children and gave them a simple instruction: "I am going to bed now. Please, do not disturb me for any reason." Within moments, I was fast asleep.
Not long afterward, a woman who had traveled all the way from Northern Nigeria arrived at our home. She knocked on the door and asked my children, "Is Daddy at home?" Unable to tell a lie, they answered, "Yes, he is." "I need to see him," she replied.
My children explained that I would not be coming out again that day because I was resting. The woman smiled and said, "Who is talking about today? Since he is at home, I will wait until he comes out." And wait she did.
She sat quietly by the door. Food was offered to her, but she refused to leave her position. Hour after hour, she remained there, holding firmly to her conviction that she would not return home without receiving what she had come for.
Eventually, my wife came to wake me. I reminded her that I had specifically asked not to be disturbed. But she persisted until I reluctantly got out of bed to attend to the visitor.
When I finally met the woman, she made a simple request: “"Daddy, just touch my head. I know that when you do, my situation will change for good." She was not hoping. She was not guessing. She knew.
Her confidence was rooted in faith. She believed that God had the power to transform her circumstances, and she refused to let weariness, distance, time, or inconvenience stand in her way. That day, she received her miracle.
The question is: When you go before God in prayer, do you pray with that same confidence? Do you truly know that God hears you? Do you truly believe that He has the power to do everything you are asking Him to do? Do you truly know that He loves you and desires to solve your problems?
When faith rises beyond mere words and becomes settled assurance in God's ability, willingness, and faithfulness, victory is already on the way. Like that woman, hold on to God's promises. Refuse to give up. Refuse to be discouraged. Refuse to let doubt steal your confidence.
For when you know that God hears your prayers, that He is able to answer them, and that He cares deeply about your situation, you can rest in this assurance: Your breakthrough is not a matter of possibility, but of time. The God who answers prayers is already at work on your behalf. Believe, persevere, and watch Him turn your situation around for His glory. God bless you!
