How a Single Encounter with Christ Can Overturn the Darkest Verdict Ever Pronounced Over a Life.
One evening, a woman went to bed as she had done countless times before. As sleep overtook her, she found herself in a dream. She had boarded a taxi and taken her seat among the other passengers. Suddenly, two people seated beside her drew guns and pointed them directly at her. She awoke with a start.
Her heart was pounding. Her body trembled. Though it was only a dream, the terror she felt seemed frighteningly real. Unable to dismiss it, she became determined to understand its meaning. The next day, she sought the counsel of a herbalist reputed for his knowledge of spiritual matters. After listening attentively, the man grew solemn: "Your situation is serious," he said. "You will die on the 23rd of March this year."
The words struck her like a thunderbolt. Desperately, she pleaded for guidance. Surely there had to be a remedy, a sacrifice, a ritual, something that could avert such a fate. Yet the herbalist remained unmoved : "There is nothing that can be done."
From that moment, fear took residence in her heart. Still unwilling to accept such a verdict, she sought out another herbalist who was said to be more powerful than the first. To her horror, he arrived at exactly the same conclusion. Worse still, he admitted that he possessed no power to reverse it. The woman left more troubled than before.
Days turned into weeks. Thoughts of death became her constant companion. Every sunrise reminded her that she was one day closer to the date that had been pronounced over her life. Every sunset seemed to mark another step toward the grave. Then someone spoke to her about a famous seer who lived near the sea. Clinging to a fading hope, she traveled to meet him.
After a brief consultation, the seer sighed heavily: "My daughter," he said, "I wish I had better news. But your case is beyond help. You will die on the 23rd of March."
The woman returned home crushed in spirit. Three different people. Three separate consultations. One identical verdict. The date haunted her. It followed her into her thoughts and invaded her moments of silence. Who was after her? What had she done? Why was no one able to help her? The questions multiplied, but the answers never came.
One day, however, she made a decision that would change everything. She went to a church and requested to see the pastor. Once seated before him, she poured out her story, withholding nothing. The pastor listened quietly until she had finished. Then he smiled. It was the first reassuring smile she had seen since her ordeal began: "My daughter," he said, "if you will surrender your life to Jesus Christ and follow Him wholeheartedly, the 23rd of March will come and go, and you will still be alive."
Unlike all the others, this man did not merely diagnose her problem. He pointed her to a solution. Hope began to rise where fear had long reigned. Without hesitation, she knelt down, confessed Jesus Christ as Lord, and committed her life to Him. The pastor prayed for her, and she left with a peace she had not felt in many months.
From that day forward, she devoted herself to prayer and placed her confidence in God. At last, the dreaded date arrived. The hours passed. Night came. Then morning broke. On the 24th of March, the woman opened her eyes and suddenly realized something extraordinary. She was alive.
Overcome with joy, she hurried to the church: "Pastor!" she exclaimed. "The 23rd of March has passed, and I am still here!" The pastor smiled warmly. "Jesus has delivered you from death," he replied.
The woman then recounted an unusual event. During the night of the 23rd March, every woman sharing her room had been restless and disturbed. None of them seemed able to sleep peacefully. The pastor listened and responded, "Death came looking for you. But when you gave your life to Jesus, He gave you a new identity. The one death came searching for no longer existed."
Tears of gratitude filled her eyes. She left rejoicing, praising God for His mercy and His power to save.
Beloved, the God who delivered that woman remains the same today. No verdict is above His authority. No power is greater than His power. No destiny is beyond His ability to transform.
When Jesus steps into a life, fear gives way to faith, despair gives way to hope, and death itself loses its claim.
If you have not yet given your life to Him, His arms remain open. Come to Him today. Trust Him with your life, your future, and your eternity. He is still able to save.
God bless you.
